Ji Burton

Ji joined Connolly Suthers in February 2018 after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from James Cook University.

Ji works within the firm’s litigation department assisting with personal compensation and superannuation claims.

Ji has a wide portfolio of personal compensation claims ranging from complex electric shock incidents, work injuries, psychiatric injuries and motor vehicle accidents. He handles many of the Firm’s catastrophic motor vehicle accident claims for clients with Traumatic Brain Injuries which attracts the engagement of the National Injury Insurance Scheme, Queensland. He strives to provide each client with complete comfort and understanding of the difficult and sometimes lengthy process ahead, while pushing clients’ claims along in a timely manner towards resolution.

Ji also assists with the Income Protection and TPD Insurance applications for the Firm’s clients.

Having grown up in Burdekin prior to moving to Townsville, Ji is familiar with the North Queensland region and is passionate about helping those in the community during their time of need.

He enjoys in-depth, forensic analysis to workout the losses incurred by clients after their injuries, including review of Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, years of payslips, lost promotional opportunities – all to evidence his clients’ hardships and claims.  He is a well-regarded practitioner within the compensation sphere. He was awarded a 94/100 for his Honours research at James Cook University under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Middleton.
